v1.1.0 release

Pocket Archive version 1.1.0 (anticipated due to major improvements and replacing an unreleased v1.0.1 patch version) has been released.

Aside from several improvements and bug fixes, this version supports Lua 5.5 and maintains compatibility with Lua 5.4. From this version on, the default Lua version for the pre-built Docker images will be 5.5.

Presentation at Forum for Open Research in MENA

The first stable release of Pocket Archive has been presented for the first time at the Forum for Open Research in MENA.

The conference, whose theme this year is: Resilience in Research: The Role of Open Science in the Arab World, was held online on 19–20th Ocober 2026.

While waiting on the conference recordings to be available, below is a copy of the slides presented.

Separate repository for this documentation

The source code for this repository has been moved to a separate Git repository.

Demo site published

A demo site for Pocket Archive is now available.

This is a static website generated by Pocket Archive from a sample archive. It is meant to demonstrate some of the features of Pocket Archive, rather than being a fully consistent body of preservation-worthy information.

v1.0.0 release

After 16 months of design and development, Pocket Archive version 1.0.0 has been released. This is the first "stable", fully functional version of the project. A self-standing Docker image with a pre-installed instance and a Lua rock for DIY install a are available.

A bug fix branch is available for immediate adjustments while work towards significant improvements and new features slated for v1.1.0 continues in parallel.
