System administration

The guides in this section are aimed at maintainers of the system. This can be one person in most cases, who should have the following technical expertise:

• General Linux system administration
• Securing applications on the WWW (especially if remote submission and/or the admin interface are enabled)
• Some basic understanding of Lua data structures in order to modify configuration files. A full understanding of the Lua language is not required, and most of the framework can be understood by looking at the existing configuration files.

Compatibility

Linux only. There is currently no interest or resources to port Pocket Archive to another platform.

There are Docker containers available for who wants to test the software on a different operating system. See the Test drive page for more information.
